Dentistry Services
Our staff are specially trained to make children feel at ease in our dental practice. We teach children how to take care of their teeth, while they learn that going to the dentist can be fun. Dental problems can begin at a very early age. Serious oral conditions such as childhood dental decay - often caused by a child staying on the bottle too long – and gum disease are our main concern when it comes to our young patients. The earlier the child starts seeing the dentist, the better the chances of preventing these problems.
On average, 40% of all children aged between two and three years have mild inflammations of gum tissue. Strong, healthy teeth help your child chew food easily, speak clearly, and feel good about his or her appearance. A child who can chew easily, speak clearly, and smile confidently is a happier child. Decayed primary teeth can cause pain, abscesses, infections, and can spread to the permanent teeth. Also, a child's general health can be affected if the decayed primary teeth aren't treated.
Before bringing your child to our practice, it is advised that you prepare your child the same way you would prepare them for their first haircut. If you are nervous about your child’s first dental visit, it would be best if you do not express your feelings to your child. You cannot hide your anxiety from a child, so it is better if you simply say nothing. We encourage you to read children’s books about the dentist as a way to prepare your child.
