Jessica Joffe
Jessica graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BSc (Physio) in 2006. She has completed Basic and Advanced Neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT) training and later completed an MSc in Paediatric Neurological Physiotherapy in 2014 (UCT).
Her undergraduate dissertation was published and her master’s dissertation (with a focus on cerebral palsy and intervention strategies) was presented at two conferences. She has also been accredited at both Basic and Advanced Prechtl’s General Movement Assessment courses.
Jessica has a thirst for knowledge thus organises and attends many profession-specific courses each year and thrives on challenging herself constantly. She served as the chairperson of the SA Physiotherapy Society’s (SASP) Paediatric Special Interest Group’s Gauteng Branch for 5 years and still currently serves on the SA Neurodevelopmental Association’s (SANDTA) Gauteng Branch committee.
Jessica has a special interest in neonates, neurodevelopmental rehabilitation of infants and children with cerebral palsy, however, continues to treat a wide variety of conditions/difficulties. Jessica believes strongly in achieving an individual’s highest level of functional independence and social integration. Sport plays a massive part in achieving this and Jessica is an accredited International Paralympic Committee Medical Swimming Classifier, having attended various international events as both classifier and SA Paralympic swimming team physio.
