Kirsten Gibson
Kirsten Gibson began her career as an Orthotist Prosthetist at one of the leading Trauma Hospitals in Africa. There, it became evident that there was a need for specialised orthotic services.
A few years later Kirsten began training in neuro rehabilitation and orthopaedic orthotics.
She then established various paediatric, neuro and orthopaedic clinics. Gibson Orthotics became a reality in 2015 where Kirsten followed her passion to establish bespoke orthotics services.
Kirsten has 10 years’ experience as an orthotist prosthetist and 2 years’ experience as an orthotic consultant. Her formal studies are Ndip in medical orthotics and prosthetics, BTech - medical orthotics prosthetics, a certificate in two-dimensional gait analysis, as well as Elaine Owen paediatric gait analysis and orthotic management.
Kirsten has been an active member of both the South African association of Orthotists Prosthetists since 2011. Currently serving on the executive committee of the South African arm of the International Society of Orthotists Prosthetists. She presents annually at various universities & post graduate level training seminars.
