Kerryn Burn
Kerryn graduated with a BA Speech and Hearing Therapy at Wits University in 2015. After this she worked locally and internationally with children of all ages. Her work spanned across a range of environments including hospitals, early childhood centres and schools. It was during her time working in the UK that her love for early childhood communication development grew.
Kerryn joined Thrive Therapy Services and the Early Bird Therapy Centre Team in March 2020.
Kerryn uses her knowledge about speech and language development to support children to develop effective communication skills in their early years and then build on these at school level. She is a firm believer in delivering therapy that is evidence-based and thus strives to continue learning. To this end Kerryn has attended additional training courses in; PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular and Phonetic Targets) Introduction Course, Speech therapy for children with hearing loss, Makaton, Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Word Aware (vocabulary development) and VERVE child interaction therapy.
